Discover the Estuary Lounge & Restaurant at Leven Beach Holiday Park

Opening to the public on Monday 17th May, the new Estuary Restaurant at Leven Beach Holiday Park, incorporating a comfortable lounge bar and terrace, which seats 120 people, is open seven days a week.

Situated at North Promenade, Leven Beach Holiday Park enjoys fantastic sea views and is adjacent to the Fife Coastal Path and Leven Links golf course.

The new restaurant, serving everything from three course evening meals, lunches, snacks, coffees and teas, to a takeaway service. It provides a lovely stop off when walking on the coastal path, or to enjoy in the evening with family and friends.

Mirroring on a smaller scale what is offered at Horizons, the iconic Bar & Restaurant at the 4 star Bay Hotel & Leisure Complex in Kinghorn, The Estuary Restaurant is family friendly, showcasing ingredients from quality local food producers in a selection of popular dishes. As with Horizons Restaurant, The Estuary Restaurant is open for everyone to enjoy, not just holiday park guests. It also offers a convenient takeaway service, and has a wide choice of vegetarian and very low gluten choices.

Leven Beach Holiday Park has been owned by the Wallace family since 1989. Additionally, under their ownership is the Bay Hotel & Leisure complex, which includes the popular Pettycur Bay Holiday Park. Completing the line up just a short distance away, is Kinghorn Harbour Holiday Park.

The opening of The Estuary Restaurant at Leven Beach, completed at a cost of around £110k, including an extensive fit out of a new kitchen, has created several new full and part-time jobs, with two new Chefs being employed.

Commenting on the launch of The Estuary Restaurant, Director Tommy Wallace said: “We are very excited about opening The Estuary which is a major addition to this popular park. Tourism remains very important to this part of Fife. We wanted to create another showcase for the area with its beautiful beaches and coastline. We know that people from West Fife and Dunfermline love a day trip to Leven, so now they can access well priced and delicious food seven days a week at The Estuary Restaurant.”

Tommy explained that setting up the new eatery represented a significant investment for the business, run jointly with his father Thomas, and brother, Alan, at this time, but one that they were more than happy to make to increase customer choice at Leven Beach Holiday Park.

“This well established holiday park means a great deal to us, bringing tourists into Fife for many years now, as do all our parks,” he said, “Leven Beach enjoys an enviable location right on the beach, like Pettycur Bay and Kinghorn Harbour, which also have the most amazing views. We wanted a new restaurant that does justice to the location,” he said.

“We were also aware that locally sourced food and drink – and supporting local – remain real drivers in the industry at the moment, with no signs of abating. We want to carry on Horizon’s reputation for serving freshly prepared family favourites. We’re offering the locally caught East Neuk haddock, homemade steak pie, our famous Beef burgers, and many other popular choices besides.”

Head Chef at Horizons, James Mckay, has helped set up the new restaurant. He said:

“The Estuary looks fantastic, and it’s been my pleasure to be involved. I’m confident that this new facility will become a real asset, not only to Leven Beach Holiday Park, but to the local area generally. We hope to receive a strong level of custom from people all over Fife, especially those from West Fife who already come to Horizons. Shop local, eat local is the new mantra, and we’re raring to go.”
