Holiday fun with library

Children enjoyed arts and crafts as part of the programme.

The Lansdowne Library Children’s Holiday Programme has kept local children busy throughout their school holidays.

The programme was held at the Lansdowne Civic Centre.

The children, many from the Flamingo Heights informal settlement, enjoyed interacting with each other, ensuring that social distancing and the Covid-19 protocols were observed.

Ward 60 Councillor Mark Kleinschmidt presented the children with face masks donated by the Athlone 1 constituency head, Sharna Fernandez, as part of the Western Cape Provincial Parliamentary Outreach programme. Fernandez is also the provincial minister for social development.

V Families requiring children’s face masks free of charge may call Verita during weekdays on 021 400 3309 between 08:30 and 14:00. Quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
