Rutherglen primary school launch treasure trail for bank holiday fun

A Rutherglen primary school have launched a treasure trail for local youngsters to take part in over the bank holiday weekend.

The school’s parent council hit upon the idea as a way of saying thanks to pupils, parents and carers for their hard work over the past year and the difficulties of dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesperson for the parent council said: “We know this last year hasn’t been a barrel of laughs for anyone but we also know how incredible our pupils have been. And let’s not forget the parents and carers too!

“As a wee thank you to you all, the Burnside Parent Council has created a very special activity for all the family to enjoy over next weekend’s Bank Holiday weekend – the Burnside Treasure Trail.

“Packs will go into school bags next week and, if you successfully complete the secret mission, you can enter into  the prize draw to win prizes donated by some brilliant local Burnside businesses. We hope you all enjoy it. We’ve had great fun working on it!”
