Scots travel firm offers staycation holiday to visit world’s largest Primark store

A Scots travel firm is selling a package holiday to the world’s largest Primark in Birmingham.

Barrhead Travel has taken the notion of a staycation to another level with the trip, which will take place in November and December this year.

For £99 per person, Scots will get a one-night stay at a hotel in the heart of Birmingham – with dinner and breakfast included, reports Glasgow Live.

And the accommodation is within close proximity to the gigantic five-floor flagship Primark store in the English city.

The store covers 161,000 sq ft and comes complete with a Disney-themed cafe, a barber’s shop and beauty studio, in addition to its rows of bargain clothes.

Pickups for the trip are available from both Glasgow and Paisley.

While you have to give credit to the travel firm for finding new ways to cash in amid travel confusion at the airports, some Scots have been left somewhat baffled.

One person wrote: “Staycations mate, they’re all the rave…”

Another said: “I see where they’re coming from. Primark is hotter than Spain inside.”

Nicola Sturgeon has urged Scots to avoid travelling abroad for holidays as concerns over the Delta variant of the virus continue to grow.

But, travel across the UK is permitted with Government officials that hoping Scots holidaymakers will book somewhere closer to home.
