There’s no question mark over it now, summer is officially here – and even with the ever-changing quarantine restrictions, Brits are desperate to get away (though, quite frankly, if the weather stays like this we’re pretty content on a sun lounger in the garden).

However, with many of us leaving bookings until the last minute to account for any changes in the government’s travel list, sometimes we don’t have the time to suss out and weigh up all the best travel deals… and there are many.

The Government is still operating a red, amber and green list for travel corridors and, though the lists chop and change as the COVID-19 situation in each country fluctuates, the current system works like this:

You should not visit countries on the red list, and those who do, have to book a quarantine hotel package, including two COVID-19 tests, and then isolate in a designated hotel post-return to the UK.

You can travel to destinations on the amber list, but you will be asked to declare that you have been fully UK vaccinated on your passenger locator form, or are taking part or have taken part in a formally approved UKCOVID-19 vaccine clinical trial for COVID-19 vaccine, or you are under 18 and resident in the UK.

You will be asked to show proof of your vaccination status to your carrier (ferry, airline or train) when you travel, and will have to quarantine for 10 days on your return to the UK and take day two and day eight COVID-19 tests.

For countries on the green list, quarantine on your return is not necessary, unless you have tested positive for coronavirus, in which case the 10 day isolation rule applies.

So, with that in mind, we’ve picked out the best sites to visit to find brilliant holiday deals, whether you’re searching for a package deal or a hotel stay in the UK or further afield.

Bookmark these websites, and travel in the smug knowledge that you didn’t pay a penny more than you had to.

Where to find the best holiday deals, 2021

Booking.com is arguably the best known holiday booking website in the UK, allowing users to search by hotel or by city, and often offering a ‘book now pay later’ deal, where you’ll pay the hotel on arrival.

Sometimes, hotels booked through Booking.com offer free cancellation up to a week before, too, giving you even more flexibility.

Plus, if you book before 30th September, you can take advantage of lots of deals with 15% off or more

The website’s destinations are endless, including Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and many other sought-after holiday locations.

If you don’t want to spend hours trawling through deals or you need a last-minute getaway, lastminute.com has everything from beach holidays to spa breaks, as well as tickets for days out and experiences.

Make sure to keep checking back on the ‘Today’s top travel deals’ tab, as these change daily and include getaways with the biggest savings and lowest prices.

Destinations range from continental Europe to luxurious long-haul escapes, like Mauritius and Barbados.

Jet2holidays’ repertoire is not to be sniffed at, with over 50 destinations to choose from. Their line-up includes summer classics, like Benidorm in the Costa Blanca, Majorca in the Balearic Islands and Tenerife in the Canaries.

Alongside these, there are destinations across the Mediterranean such as Croatia, Italy and Turkey, for you to try for your next beach holiday. And it’s not just summer spots – you can take a pick from winter sun destinations too, including Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.

The website offers great-value package holidays, and allows users to choose from a wide range of 2-5 star accommodation, with holiday ranges including activity-packed family favourites, all-inclusive getaways and luxury retreats.

Each of their package holidays includes return flights, 22kg baggage and hotel transfers, for just a £60pp deposit.
