Holiday destinations you can fly to from Birmingham for £30 or less

It’s been a long time since most of us has been abroad but with more and more of us getting doubled-jabbed, a trip abroad seems closer than it has been since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Low-cost carrier easyJet has this week announced a new route from Birmingham to Amsterdam Schiphol, with return flights starting at £22.99.

Daydreaming about a trip away got us thinking, where else can you get to from Birmingham Airport for less than £30?

Birmingham Live has found that you can get to destinations all over Europe and for less than £30, based on flights departing the airport on September 20 and returning on September 27.

Spain

Return flights to Palma on the Balearic island of Mallorca cost just £16 on Ryanair according to a Skyscanner search and is just over two hours away.

You can also get a Flexible fare through the carrier for an extra £9.99 each way.

The Mallorcan capital is a stunning destination with a beautiful old cathedral and a historic Old Town.

It’s also perfectly placed to go and explore the islands’ beaches and with temperatures expected to be in the mid-to-high 20s, it’s the perfect place to get some late summer sun.

Another Spanish destination is Malaga, with flights taking around two hours and 45 minutes.

Flexible tickets from Ryanair are available from £23 return.

Located in the central south of Spain, in the heart of the Costa Del Sol, the city promises golden beaches and sunshine at this time of year.

Malaga is also steeped in history, being one of the world’s longest continuously inhabited cities in the world with its origins able to be traced back to 700BC.

Poland

For something a bit different, you can fly to Krakow for as little as £17 with Wizz Air through MyTrip.

The city boasts a historic old town, which is a UNESCO world heritage site.

For just a few quid more each way, you can also fly to the Polish capital Warsaw.

Flights take around two hours 45 minutes and cost £25 through Wizz Air.

Warsaw also has an iconic Old Town to visit, making it a fascinating city break option for the discerning traveller.

Italy

For £14 return, you can take a trip to the setting of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet.

Verona is the cheapest destination in Italy to fly to and located between Milan and Venice is a perfect destination for day trips to two of the country’s other famous cities.

Flights take around two hours and five minutes for a getaway in the picturesque Veneto region.

It takes around an hour to get to the capital Dublin and tickets are again extremely reasonable.

Ryanair offers flights for just £27 through BudgetAir or for just £3 more you can get a fliexible ticket through Ryanair directly.

The capital of the Republic of Ireland, Dublin is alive with fascinating history and exciting nightlife.
