Cleveland shows its devotion to the arts, and to holiday fun: Cheers & More Cheers

CHEERS … to Case Western Reserve University’s elegant expansion of the Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center that seamlessly adds the 250-seat Roe Green Theater and the 100-seat black box theater named for donors Walter and Jean Kalberer, as critic Steven Litt reports on cleveland.com. And it does so without interfering with the striking profile of the historic Temple-Tifereth Israel synagogue, original occupant of the structure.

CHEERS … to the return of the popular ice-skating rink at Wade Oval in University Circle just in time to lift holiday spirits. With primary sponsorship from PNC Bank, the Rink at Wade Oval will open Dec. 3 and close Feb. 27. The rink charges nominal admission – $1 for students, $2 for adults — and rents skates for $2 for students and $3 for adults, cleveland.com’s Anne Nickoloff reports. Lace up those skates, and give it a try.
