Leave the car at home with these Easter holiday fun activities

WITH the long Easter break ahead, families will be planning how to keep the kids entertained for two weeks.

Here is a selection of family-friendly activities happening around Cumbria from next week. From spectacular shows to finding the Golden Bunny, they can all be enjoyed while leaving the car at home.

Soar into space with this joyful tale of star-crossed aliens based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. On a far-off planet, Smeds and Smoos can’t be friends. So, when a young Smed and Smoo fall in love and zoom off together, how will their families get them back? Music laughs and interplanetary adventures for everyone aged 3 and up on April 5 and 6.

The Golden Bunny Easter Egg Hunt, Brockhole on Windermere

Bus stop: Outside Brockhole gates

Use the clues to find the Great Golden Bunny hiding somewhere around the grounds from April 2 to 24. Pick up a sheet from the Woodland Shop and get a photo with the bunny when you find him to claim your prize from the Woodland Shop.

The Good Friday Special, Heron Corn Mill, Milnthorpe

Friday, April 15 sees the return of the popular Easter egg hunt for children, which takes place in and around the mill with chocolatey prizes up for grabs. It will take place hourly and will be limited to 25 children at a time. Entry is free
