Jet2 offers 1p family holidays to Greece, Canary Islands, and more

Jet2’s latest offering could help families take a summer holiday for just a couple of pennies. The travel giant is currently giving holidays away for just pennies – from 1p, however, there is a catch.

Jet2holidays ‘Bid for a Break‘ has returned, where holidaymakers can bag themselves a week-long holiday in places such as Tenerife, Crete, and Gran Canaria from as little as 1p. You bid for the lowest amount you would want to pay for a holiday, however only the lowest unique bid will win the trip.

Last year, 23 holidaymakers won getaways to the Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal and Turkey, with some of the bids starting from just 2p. There is a range of trips on offer, with different holidays released on different days, The Mirror reported.

Currently, you can bid for a break to Bulgaria from May 16, Crete from May 23, and Gran Canaria from May 30. There is also a mix of deals to suit households, whether you would like to travel as a family of four or as a couple.

How does it work?

Putting your bid in for Jet2holiday’s Bid for a Break is simple. This is what you have to do:

  • Download the Jet2holidays app or have a look online
  • Go to the ‘Offers’ page
  • Select ‘Bid for a break’
  • Fill out the form with your contact details
  • Add in your lowest unique bid, to the nearest pence

Various holidays are released on different days

You can find out more about the holidays and get the full terms and conditions on Jet2’s website. Even if you don’t succeed, there is a silver lining as all participants who are unsuccessful bidders receive a special discount code giving them £60 off their next holiday.

It’s important to check travel restrictions in place due to the pandemic if you do fly abroad this summer. For example, if you’re hoping to visit the likes of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, adults need to be vaccinated while unvaccinated kids aged 12-17 will need a PCR test to be granted entry.

Entry requirements can change quickly during the pandemic, so always check the Foreign Office’s latest travel advice for a destination before you book a trip or go abroad, as this will include key information from entry requirements to local Covid rules you need to know.

Keep an eye on Jet2 for the next ‘Bid for a Break’ to win a holiday to Bulgaria on May 16.
