Holiday plans on the rise in Poland after pandemic
The number of Poles who are planning a summer holiday this year has increased by 18 percent to nearly two-thirds of the population as the subsiding coronavirus pandemic has boosted tourist traffic, the Polish Tourism Organisation (POT) has reported.
According to POT’s research published on Tuesday, 65 percent of Poles are planning a holiday in the summer.
“The forecasts for the upcoming holiday season and the activity of Polish tourists going on holiday, both domestically and abroad, are boding well,” said Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, a deputy sports and tourism minister.
“Based on data from the most popular booking websites only, current holiday bookings have risen by around 20 to 30 percent compared to previous years,” Gut-Mostowy also said.
Of those who do plan to have holidays this year, 71 percent are seeking domestic destinations, 19 percent foreign ones and 10 percent are still undecided.
The POT-commissioned survey was carried out by ARC Rynek i Opinia on 1,006 Poles on May 31, 2022.
